Impression (Printing) : appearance (display) of an announcement on a web page.
 
Announcer / Advertiser : natural or legal entity which pays a Webmaster according to an advertising action on his web site, this action being able to be translated by displays, reroutings towards his own site, registrations of players, etc.
 
Campaign : all the commercials created by an announcer. A campaign groups includes several sizes(formats) of advertisements, such as banners, links texts, etc.
 
Click : rerouting of a visitor of the site of the publisher in that of the announcer.
 
Rate of clicks : the rate of click expresses hitself in % of the broadcasted displays. It allows to know, in %, how many displays were made to have a click. The average of the rates is typically of the order of 0,05 % until 1 %. If the rate of click is 1 %, it means that were needed 100 displays to have a click.
 
Commission : payment for the publisher on the performances of his campaigns.
 
CPM : cost paid for one thousand displays. The payment is calculated according to the number of display of the advertising. For example, if you have a 0,80-euro CPM, you will gain 0,80 Euro in every 1000 displays(postings) of the campaign.
 
CPC : cost paid by click. The payment is calculated according to the number of clicks. A 0,10-euro CPC means that you will gain 0,10th in every click on a banner or a link text.
 
CPL : cost calculated in the performance. Often conscript LEAD. The announcer pays for every member registered on his Web site. If you have a 1-euro CPL, you will be paid 1 Euro for every member registered on the site of the announcer.
 
CPA : cost by acquisition. The announcer pays for every member having made a purchase on his Web site. Two forms of payment are possible in that case: in the percentage of the amount of the sale or by a fixed amount if deposit on the site (frequent in the industry of on-line games).
 
Revenue Share (RS)  : the announcer pays a part of the earnings which he realizes thanks to the Internet users coming from your site. This agreement can be in duration limited or for life and expresses itself in percentage of the earnings.
 
Commission Hybrid : the announcer pays at once a CPA and a Revenue Share. In the place for example to benefit from a 100-euro CPA, the announcer is going to pay a 60-euro basic salary more a sharing of income of additional 15 %.
 
eCPM : it is about the (effective) real CPM which allows to calculate the income for one thousand displays(postings) on all the types(chaps) of campaigns about is their method of payment (CPC, CPM, CPA, CPL, RS). The eCPM allows to compare the payment for every campaign on the same system of calculation.
 
Webmaster : natural or legal entity owner (and person in charge) of a Web site, which wishes to pay its site thanks to the exploitation of its traffic and various advertising spaces.
 
Place / Advertising space : space on a publishing site reserved for the display of the advertising. These spaces are generally standardized in sizes(formats) of standard banners: 300x250, 728x90, 120x600, etc.
 
Incentive : all the techniques to incite the Internet user to realize an action on the site of the announcer against a some counterpart (advantages, presents, money), for example for its registration in a Newsletter, or for a deposit(warehouse) at an announcer. Before practising the incentive, the member necessarily has to verify that the announcer agrees him or if necessary to obtain through the platform his express authorization. Should the opposite occur the member would see all cancelled earnings and would be excluded from the platform with a registration(inscription) on a file "blacklist" common to platforms.
 
Advertising size (format) : this term indicates(appoints) the various types(chaps) of announcement and their size(cutting). The sizes are expressed in pixels, for example the skyscrapper 160x600 vertical, the mega-banner 728x90, the standard banner 468x60, etc. The sizes can also express themselves in display mode: pop-up / pop - under, dressing, transparent flash, slide - in, etc.
 
Advertising agency : begun(undertaken) administrator of the advertising space of one or several supports of press, which she(it) markets with the announcers, the communication agencies and the buying groups of space. 
 
Tag of tracking : supplied by the platform, he allows the display of banners and links texts, while insuring the traceability of all the process of membership to be able to pay the member according to his advertising actions and supply him detailed statistics.
